The cave spot has split from its ancestor and moved to the caves' entrances. Its leaves grew and now give it a stronger hold on the stone's surface. The flower is now mainly turned to the outside of the cave, and attracts both bumblecaveling and bambelin so they can come and pollinate it. Because the cave spots ancestor never lost its ability to photosynthesize, it can now acquire energy from the sun during the day, and from filter feeding during the night. But coming to the mouth of the caves makes it fight for room with the plant already occupying the area, the lolly poppy.
