Ancestor:Descendants:

The corpse-bearing pipents originate from norats of the Yokto Taiga that immigrated to the Yokto Rocky. There, with a small variety of food sources and lots of food drifting to the river banks they have become scavengers feeding mainly on dead animals and plants that drift off to shore. They have also become amphibious swimming often along the river grabbing the corpses of major plents and dragging them to shore where they feed on them. They can swim and breath using their butt-nostril snorkel. They evolved pseudo-fingers for better grasping of corpses. They maintained their ancestors' intelligence and social behavior including their known laughter.
