Ancestor:Descendants:

The darwin thronshell split from its ancestor, the thornshell. It has returned to its ancestral beaches where it has both doubled in size and has re-grown its extra leaves. These extra "shell-leaves" help it absorb more sunlight to support its larger size. Like their ancestor they are immobile and thus have to spread by airborne spores.
