Ancestor:Descendants:

The desert lizardworm split from the lizardworm. It has migrated from the plains to the desert finding an abundance of small desert invertebrates to eat. Its color has changed to a rusty red to blend in with the red desert sand. Like its ancestor it has a lizard like jaw but also two insect-like mandibles. It uses then to grab its food while it is growing it up. Its has four pairs of segmented legs. The front pair have split into a spade used for digging and climbing. They are quite fast when in the heat of day. They are cold-blooded and must regulate their temperature by sunning and shading themselves.
