---|---|
The filterfern split from its ancestor due to a mutation that caused the leaves to grow a lot longer and now hang down like a curtain. It now feeds on anything small enough to get stuck in its curtains. They have grown in size and do not stay dormant as long as their ancestor does as they need more energy to survive. Apart from these differences the filterfern is exactly like its ancestor.
