Ancestor:Descendants:

The handstand plent replaced its ancestor, the vegfoots. Many vegfoots had trouble getting water so some bend over to drink from the river. After awhile it was easier just to stand upside down. Eventually they developed grips on the edges of their leaves to help them stand and their mouths grew longer so it would not have to bend as far. Its tentacles eventually became leaves too since they lo longer walked on them. They also move a bit more than there ancestors so they can mate more easily. In order to move more they also eat rotting biomass along the river. Like walking plents they will vomit up their food, urinate through their skin and mate and give birth in their mouths. Most of the time they stay still along the edge of the water. Its only during mating season that they need to spend more energy and thus eat. Unlike their ancestor the females do not die after giving birth. The babies are very tiny and both eat and photosynthesize until they become adults where they can afford not to have to eat so much.
