The hollowdome split from their ancestor and spread to the Jeluki Salt Flats. It doubled in size and now has a hollow core which they fill with nutrients to store for the harder times. Like their ancestors, the outer chitin lenses trap heat, making it much warmer inside than the air outside the dome. This causes water to condense on the lenses, allowing them to collect it for storage. Like their ancestors they are very efficient in getting nutrients from the ice and soil.
