The hydroblaster has split from it's ancestor the iceblaster and have spread to wetter regions. Due to it's much larger diet, the have almost doubled in size. It's diet is mainly yellowgrass, but also includes the polar orbion and nonpoisonous marbleflora.
The hydroblaster roams in herds of ten to fifthteen members and stay in or very close to the water. This is because of their very effective defence mechanism. The hydroblaster is able inhale and store a large amount of water in their butt-sacs and blow it out in one powerful blast," like a fire hose". This can cause bruising and tissue tearing. So predators are very cautious around them.
The hydroblaster will usually mat during the summer. Males will first have water blasting competitions to impress females and intimidate other rival males. If males become more aggressive, they ramming each other until one backs down. The females will give birth in shallow water. They usually give birth to one offspring. Due to the fact that the juvenile are not as powerful as adults, they much more camouflaged then the adults. The juveniles of the hydroblasters near the beach do not have the yellow stripes and are a darker hue of purple.
