Ancestor:Descendants:

The landlubber onamor has split from its ancestor in Chum Tropical Bay. With such predators as the scylarians and slaesosauruses, life in the water was becoming dangerous. Combined with the lure of abundant new food sources and no competition on the land, the species came about when the first few onamor made their first few steps onto Sparks Tropical Beach.

The species has evolved several adaptions for surviving on land. The first is a flap of skin which covers their gills, keeping them moist and allowing them to spend time on land without suffocating. They evolved a slimy skin, one which prevents them from drying out due to a layer of mucous they produce from pores; this adaption also makes it difficult for predators to grab onto them. Finally, the most prominent adaption are the transformation of what were once flippers back into the limbs of their ancestors, complete with stubby, toe-like extensions for gripping hard surfaces. All of these have helped the species to survive on land.

The diet of these creatures mostly consists of small invertebrates such as dartirs, scuttlers, and vermees. Their sensitive barbels help them to locate most of these, be they hidden in mud or hiding in the sand. A sticky tongue makes sure that once they are located that they will not be able to escape. They will also add vegetation to their diet, feeding on the soft, tender sprouts of the various black flora that dominate the island.
