Splitting from their ancestor, the molted hydroglobe has now completely adapted to life on land and now covers nearly every available space on the island. Thick patches now serve as an important food source for the islands inhabitants. Though it grows at a slower rate than its ancestor, it breeds faster and is hardier. They produce a sickly sweet scent due to interactions between enzymes in their "skin" and oxygen.
