The nimbus fog split from its ancestor, the nimbus cloud and lives a lifestyle similar to its extinct relative, sea fog. It floats just above the waves and gains water and nutrients from ocean spray, thus they are more abundant near the surf zone. While clouds can grow to a meter or so across with millions of individuals they are still microscopic in size and they each hook together to help the cloud avoid dispersal.
