The nimbuses include the nimbus cloud and all its extant relatives worldwide. As a group, Ultravisales is defined by the fact that all its members possess tiny, feathery projections from their limbs which allow them to float on the air. The number of limbs differs widely, usually from five to anywhere near twenty or even thirty. Most have one nucleus, but some, the nimbuchaos subgroup in particular, have five or more. This same group possesses a membrane around their limbs with the 'feathers' projecting from the membrane, rather than the limbs themselves, as a result of hybridization with saganchaoses. All nimbuses absorb ultraviolet light. Most live in the troposphere, but one species, the nimbus pile, lives on the ground, collecting into small piles resembling dust. In large numbers, flying nimbuses form vast swarms that are visible to the naked eye as small clouds.
