The notooth snapper split of the phawk and evolved stronger and more predator-like due to the competition between the two species. The snappers use their beak to catch the notooths instead of their talons and after many generations they evolved a huge, horizontal beak which is very effective due to the way the snapper hunts. They fly high up above the clouds and spot their prey with their sharp eyes and wait until the prey is careless. Then the snapper dives down and gains tremendous speed; finally, with a very skilled move it catches the prey and straightens up in one fast action, disappearing up above the clouds again. Since its easier to hold the head straight while making this complicated move, the horizontal beak has evolved to make it easier to quickly get a good grip on the prey. When the notooth snapper is back up above the clouds they feast on their victim.


When the competition grew between the hunters of notooths, the snappers spread south and now is most common in Huggs-Yokto Savanna but can, in rare cases, also be seen hunting in Huggs Temperate Forest, Huggs-Yokto Desert and along Huggs Coast.
