Ancestor:Descendants:

The orbed nitroid replaced its ancestor, the orboid, as well as expanding its range westward. Its primary cytoplasmic extensions have grown longer, and its secondary ones have merged to form net-like structures that allow it to absorb the most nitrogen possible. After its spore bulb has filled, it will release the spores and allow the air to spread them, so it no longer releases them into the ocean. It no longer uses organic molecules to build itself, instead relying solely on carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. It has been so successful, that along with the detrivorous trisphorous, it has replaced the closely related crawlnoid.
