The plentgouti replaced its ancestor, the manisketter. It is completely terrestrial now and no longer climbs in trees. Its claws have become hoofs to help it run away from predators. They have large ears and smelling eyes to help them sense predators. Their smaller set of light sensing eyes are smaller and at the tip of the nose. Since it is dark in at the bottom of the jungle canopy it must rely upon its other senses.
It feeds on small flora such as pioneeroots, marbleflora and any fallen fruit such as from the qupe tree. It relies less on photosynthesis since it lives mostly in the shade. It still has green photosynthetic parts but only on its back. In order to survive they have many babies and frequently mate. Not all make it to adulthood and those that do typically live a short life due to predation.
