Ancestor:Descendants:

The shroom-thief plent split from its ancestor. Since they are eaten by the grendelsaur, some of the shroom-gulper plents changed to an underground lifestyle. Unlike its ancestor, the shroom-thief plent has three claws on its front feet and spade-like claws on its back feet, which allows it dig deep underground. It does not depend on photosynthesis as much as its ancestor, but it still does some in holes on the surface.

The shroom-thief plent gets its name because it tends to steal cropshrooms from diggerundi farms. Other adaptations include larger ears for hearing and a thicker skin, which protects it from diggerundi bites. When there aren't any cropshrooms it can find, it will "smell" for any "shroom slime" the shrooms secrete underground, when it finds the shrooms, it will immediately snatch them with its claws and take them to the underground.
