Ancestor:Descendants:

The signaltail replaced its ancestor the glowsnapper. It has become fully carnivorous with both genders. They have no more sexual dimorphism but they to have a metamorphosis from tadpole to adult. The tadpoles are planktivores until they are large enough to feed on small aquatic fauna. Once too big for the pools they will leave the water and the caves. Many of the tadpoles do not reach adulthood and are eaten by predators. Only a small few each adulthood and successfully mate and lay eggs.

They normally walk on all fours but can sprint on their rear legs. This is helpful when chasing down prey. They only have bioluminescent spots on their tails to communicate with. It is a red color to distinguish from other carpozoa lights. Since they are deaf they must do all communications through sight and smell. They are mostly solitary creatures and only meet to mate.
