The sprawling kelpibian replaced its ancestor, the swamole. It has several new adaptations; the fins have separated into four turtle-like flippers which help it swim faster. The groves in it's exoskeleton help it slip through the water better. They have developed a more efficient respiratory system to help them breathe better in the water. They breathe in in the grooves of their exoskeleton. They also reproduce in the same way as there ancestors did.
