Splitting from its ancestor, the tealback sucker foi has developed a parasitic life style in order to survive in the depleted oceans. Remaining microscopic throughout its entire life cycle, it remains this way in order to effectively parasitize its food source. Its coloration helps it to blend in with the skin of its host.
