Ancestor:Descendants:

The tyrant sprintzilla split from its ancestor, the sprintzilla. It has doubled in size and has become strictly carnivorous. It is by far the largest predator in the Ittiz region. It no longer raids scuttlecrab colonies but actively hunts saucebacks, scuttlecrabs and lizardworm relatives. For too long the plents have been eaten by saucebacks, now it was their turn to eat them.

Its toothed beak now has ridges on each tooth to help it slice into its prey. Its eyes have improved so it can see farther and well at dusk and night. During the day they will sit sunning themselves with not two but four photosythetic leaves. This not only creates photosynthesis but helps regulate its body heat. Like its ancestor it has special dissolving saliva. What one was used to dissolve stickyballs now is used to dissolve the silk of stickysilk scuttlecrabs.

Like its ancestor the tyrant sprintzilla extremely mean. It will go into hunger rages and can consume entire columns of stickysilk scuttlecrabs in one sitting. Its front claws are vestigial now. And its "butt-nostril" is protected with three sharp thorns around it. Its red crest has disappeared and males with bigger beaks get the females. Males will battle to the death over a mate. Their tough hide not only protects them during mating brawls but from the sharp claws of its prey.
