Ancestor:Descendants:

The umbersnapper split from its ancestor, the tipsnapper. Like its ancestor, it wades in the salt marsh hunting whatever swims by. However, not to compete with its ancestor, it has become nocturnal and will start hunting at dusk. Its six eyes have improved to have better night vision. Its neck has also grown longer so it can lunge for prey better. Since it spend most of its time wading, it doesn't fly as much, but still can fly if it needs to. Its color helps it blend in with the purple flora and black volcanic soil.
