The vine gilltail split from its ancestor the elongated gilltail. It has changed its diet to take advantage of the newly evolved, phoenix vines. It prefers eating the black photosynthetic bells but will also eat the vine-like roots. It is immune to the acid that the roots can produce. Like its ancestor they are long and thin which allows it to easily slip away from predators. They lay their eggs at the base of the ladyM korystal or segmented pyamus to not only protect them until they hatch but give them a chance to find its food quickly.
