Ancestor:Descendants:

The vivus slitherworm split from its ancestor, the hairy slitherworm. The competition in Colddigger Polar Coast was so intense that its ancestor went extinct there. On land there was much less competition and it was able to thrive. However to survive on land it had to re-adapt its "air gills" that its distant ancestors used to use. They appear blue because of their blue copper based blood. Like its ancestor its uses its trunk-like mouth to grab prey and will even use its long body to squeeze larger prey. They use their 3 eyes to detect movement from all directions.

They will mate in the spring at various nesting locations along Elerd Temperate Beach. This massive mating migration is so they can find all 3 sexes of their species. The 3 sexes are; male who gives the sperm, the female who gives the egg and the third sex who gives the hormone that allows the sperm into the egg. Thus both the male and the third sex have to mate with the female in order for fertilization to occur.
