Ancestor: | Descendants: |
---|---|
The Bashercoat replaced its ancestor, expanding its range to the temperate Drakov beaches. It has grown in size to retain body heat, as well as protect against predators. Its helmet has a larger opening to give the tongue a larger range of motion.
Behaviorally it is the same as its ancestor. However, as individuals grow, wooden scutes form on the end of their tongues, which help them bash prey. The scutes wear away over time, allowing the next set to move in to replace them. Individuals live for 10 years, becoming ready to reproduce after 2 years from birth.
