Ancestor:Descendants:

The heavycoat split from its ancestor, the woollycoat as food became harder to come by in Drake Tundra, it migrated to Bumpy Polar Beach where it developed slightly thicker fur as well as a heavier physique. It developed a unique way of hunting in which it would catch its prey before using its trunk to roll them over and then smash its trunk into them with tremendous force, thus shattering bones. It usually lives in a small herd of around 6-12 heavycoats and during the mating season group can reach numbers in the hundreds.

The male heavycoat builds a small mound which the female will rest on during the gestation period. The female doesn't move from this spot until the baby is born and relies on the male to bring food and provide protection. These nests are built closely to other nests to ensure safety amongst the herd. The gestation period normally last 6 months and the female will give birth to anywhere between 1-5 offspring annually.
