Ancestor:Descendants:

The belumbia split from its ancestor, the dancing urstar, and spread all over the world were there are gilltails. The belumbia is quite similar to its ancestor in appearance, the Hooks and the new coloration is all that separates them outwardly, but the feeding habits of the two species are rather different. The belumbia feeds off of the blood of gilltails. To do this, the belumbia will attach themselves to the inside of the intake hole or the gills, where the tissue is soft enough to be punchered. To stay attached, the belumbia has evolved hooks on their back appendage, in place of the back fin.

To survive, The belumbia have become amphidromous, meaning they can live in both saltwater and fresh water. When in fresh water, the belumbia has special vacuoles in their cells that pump out excess water. When they enter saltier waters, the vacuoles become dormant until they re-enter fresh water.
