Ancestor:Descendants:

The cadovermi is the result of a genetic mutation occurring in several clear-wing worms that made their way to Colddigger Polar Beach. The mutation proved favorable in an environment lacking predators, and these wingless worms soon spread to other nearby beaches. While for the most part they are very similar to their ancestors, they have a broader diet and will burrow into the ground and form cocoons consisting of stored cellulose mixed with sand in order to form a hardened shell while they hibernate during the colder months of the year. They now produce live young which are miniature copies of the adults, and they will feed on carrion for 2–3 weeks before molting and maturing into their adult forms, after which they will feed only on vegetation.
