Ancestor:Descendants:

A split from the miniswarmer genus, the eggorger swarmer has adopted a life of eating the eggs of other fauna. Its main strategy for eating eggs is dusting sand off from the seabed and proceeds to devour the eggs buried in the sand if there are any, though occasionally, it will consume organic detritus for extra sustenance combined with photosynthesis. Its mouth has been modified for this very purpose, suited for slurping up eggs from the seabed. Some of its skin pigments have adopted a slightly golden hue, blending in with the sand and providing reasonable protection from predators. The golden areas still contain chlorophyll-producing chloroplasts within their cells, thus a green tint can be seen. This setback could mean disastrous for the eggorger swarmer, so it can also bury its entire body, with its single eye its only exposed bodypart, in the sand if its camouflage fails. It is not a very fast swimmer rarely swims far above the seabed, though it gets the occasional bursts of speed whenever it feels threatened.
