Ancestor:Descendants:

The ghostsnapper split from both ancestors. A result of hybridization, the ghostsnapper found themselves within the Drake water table. They retain their herbivorous diet, taking advantage of the open niche in the water table. This diet however lacks all the nutrients they need, so they subliment by scavenging the dead. Though initially retaining the bioluminescence, it soon proved too energy expensive. They have lost all pigment, and are blind. Due to a lack of predators, their shells have begun to regress as well. They undergo incomplete metamorphosis, remaining in the water for their entire lives.
