The humpskunik replaced its ancestor, the fatty diveskunik. It has gotten even fatter and has doubled in size. Its 4 back limbs have turned into fat storing humps which sit atop its back. This means it can last for longer periods of time without food. Its mouth faces downward to better filter-feed on the microbes in the ice and snow. It will crush up the ice and eat it along with the microbes inside. The ice and snow are its source of water. However they cannot eat too much or risk cooling down their internal temperature. So they will eat a small amount throughout the day. In addition their photosynthesis helps them stay a bit more active than they would normally be able to be on such a poor diet. When they get the chance they will feed on the microbes inside cryobowls and even use them to spawn in. However when there are no cryobowls around they will dig their own spawning pools.
