The mini swarmer split from its ancestor and shrunk to an even smaller size. It forms massive schools containing billions of individuals that are constantly on the move. It has lost the ability to feed and now relies entirely on photosynthesis, its small size allowing it to survive via this lifestyle as the cold water slows down its metabolism. They originated in Blitz Polar Coast and soon spread all along the far northern parts of the oceans, becoming a major part of the ecosystem as they did.
