The poison pinebu has replaced its ancestor in the Nuke Temperate Forest. Because of being preyed upon by brachelaks they adapted to have a new defense; acid. Their leaves produce it from minerals, collected by their roots, to give it a sour taste. This has allowed them to increase in size because of little or no predation. Their roots also produce a stronger kind of acid so that no other kind of tree will grow very close to a poison pinebu.
