The voot syndrome split from it's ancestor and moved to the LadyM Temperate Ocean, it began parasitic relationships with descendants of the mini swarmer, it infects the eggs in side of the body, and when the egg is fertilized, it multiplies and stays with the young for it's entire life, staying in the blood stream, siphoning moderate amounts of chlorophyll out of the blood. It's only effect is stunted growth due to loss of chlorophyll.
