The yellowgrass split from its ancestor and now resides in Ittiz High Grassland and Ittiz River. It has lost its ability to produce chitinase, for it is no longer necessary. Its leaves are now yellowish-purple due to large amounts of lutein, and trace amounts of carotene along with retinal. Its root bulb has developed to store energy in the form of starches. The yellowgrass now reproduces through runners, a form of reproduction in which the roots grow into another plant. Because of this, yellowgrass often forms large fields.
