Ancestor:Descendants:

The dirk-claw shroomplent replaced is ancestor in many of the forests of Darwin. It has expanded its diet and increased in size. Its upper lip has become a pseudo-trunk for grasping shrooms. The only other major adaptation is the back claw on its front feet. They can now rotate this claw via added muscles and a special connecting hinge. If they feel threatened they will rear up on their now stronger back legs and flip out these sharp claws at the assailant. If the attacker continues to advance they will lunge forward and try to stab them; sometimes they will try this technique will moving to gain more momentum in their attack. While walking they will turn their claws slightly inward resulting in a rather clumsy looking shuffle. They have become more pugnacious and will stand and fight against nearly any other creature save their own kind, which they tend to stay away from unless it's mating season; during this time males will fight each other for dominance. Other than this they are the same as its ancestor.
