The soma monofoot split from its ancestor, the monofoot, moving out from Darwin Temperate Rainforest and into Soma Salt Flats. It now specializes in eating the bent fungibane that can be found clustered around pools of brine in the area. Its single foot helps minimize contact with the hot surface, and its ears have grown larger, and now help balance it on its single foot, dissipate heat, and flap to cool itself down. It has become camouflaged to blend in with its prey, its top half becoming darker. It uses its long fingers to pull apart the thick stems of the fungibane.
