Ancestor:Descendants:

Splitting from its ancestor, the spiked krugg has grown larger in size and has developed prominent spikes on its chitinous exoskeleton in order to ward off predators. It has adapted its diet to include the numerous globe species that dominate Darwin. Because of the fast growth rate and large amount of young, they are able to control the growth of the globes and thus allow other floral species to be able to move in and grow. While some live in burrows made by larger organisms, many instead live within the vast expanses of tunnels built by the uksors that crisscross beneath the entire tundra. They live within the abandoned tunnels in order to avoid being hunted down by the uksors. As the tunnels are warm all year round compared to the surface, the spiked krugg can breed here during all times of the year.
