Ancestor:Descendants:

The burrowing pakahe split from its ancestor, the pakahe. It is much smaller than its ancestor and hides within small burrows it digs. It will collect food and store it in its burrows for later. Sadly it doesn't have the best memory and sometimes forgets where it buried them.

Its beak has become stronger to help it dig in the dirt. It will also consume stones to help grid up its food. Like its ancestor it is flightless and only uses its wings for absorbing sunlight via photosynthesis. Its tail fins and head are brightly colored and are used for attracting mates.
